Metzger/McGuire SRG Surface Refinement Grout
Metzger/McGuire SRG Surface Refinement Grout is a two-component, 95% solids structural polyurethane/polyurea hybrid that cures into a rigid structural polymer. It was developed to fill and repair micro-level concrete floor surface imperfections such as air holes, sand aggregate pops, surface pitting, scratches, and gouges, and is designed for commercial or retail polished concrete floors where final building temperatures range from 32°F (0°C) to 120°F (49°C). SRG can also be mixed with sand aggregate or a similar material to create a repair mortar suitable for joints, cracks, and larger surface defects. Its low viscosity allows it to penetrate very small pits and imperfections, while the cured material produces a smoother, denser floor surface that can help achieve higher gloss and DOI values. Metzger/McGuire’s industrial and polished concrete floor joint fillers, repair, and maintenance products have set the industry standard for decades.
SRG is designed primarily for fine grouting and should not be used to repair surface defects larger than 1/2″ unless modified with sand aggregate or a similar material. It is designed for use with a color pack, and depending on surface and/or environmental conditions, you may need more than one coat. Its rapid-set formula allows quick access to floor areas and grinding as early as 40 minutes after application at 70°F, or 20 minutes with an accelerator pack. The repair area should be dry because SRG reacts with moisture on damp or wet surfaces, and slight color change or shifting may occur when exposed to UV-emitting lighting sources.
