Frequently Asked Questions
Can I dry cut Laminam by Crossville® with the Alpha®/Crossville® Laminam Diamond Blade with a low speed polisher?
No, you cannot use the Alpha®/Crossville® Laminam Diamond Blade dry on a low speed polisher. However, if you use the blade along with the water, you can use it.
Can I dry cut other porcelain tile made by Crossville® Tile by using Alpha®/Crossville® Laminam Diamond Blade?
No, the Alpha®/Crossville® Laminam Diamond Blade is exclusively designed for the dry cut of Laminam so that Alpha® doesn’t recommend using it for any other application.
Can I use Alpha®/Crossville® Laminam Diamond Blade to cut other materials?
Yes. Alpha® recommends the wet cutting method if you would like to cut other porcelain panels or glass tiles.
Does Alpha® offer any other sizes of the Alpha®/Crossville® Laminam Diamond Blade?
No. We have only one size that is 4-3/8” with 7/8” arbor with a 20mm adapter so that you can fit on small angle grinders and stone cutters.
Does Alpha® offer any other tools for Crossville® Laminam?
Yes. We recommend EZ Thin Tile Cutters, EZ Glass Running Plier, Spike Ruler, Diamond Hand Pads, Electroplated Drill Bits, Ecoguards and a HEPA Vacuum, just name a few.
Shall we offer Alpha®/Crossville® Laminam Diamond Blade to other tile dealers who don’t carry Laminam?
If the dealer requests Alpha®/Crossville® Laminam Diamond Blade specifically, you may offer the product. However, if they carry other thin porcelain tile and panel, please recommend the Alpha® Katana blade instead.
How can I make an electric box cut-out or an internal corner cut?
Please view the Technical Videos I mentioned above at the website of Crossville® Laminam. You need to make a drill hole at all corners by using an electroplated drill bit then connect holes by a straight cut.
Can I dry cut a sink hole with the Alpha®/Crossville® Laminam Diamond Blade?
Yes. Since Crossville® Laminam is very thin, you can score the curved line to make a sinkhole cut-out.
