STI Backer Pads provide the stable foundation your polishing pads need to deliver smooth, consistent results. Available in 3″, 5″, and 7″ diameters, these backer pads are offered in both rigid and rubber (flexible) versions, allowing you to match the pad to the surface being polished. Choosing the right backer improves pad contact, promotes even wear, and helps produce a more uniform finish across flat floors, uneven surfaces, edges, and contours.

Designed for use with resin polishing pads on standard variable-speed hand grinders, STI Backer Pads feature a hook-and-loop (Velcro) face for secure pad attachment and a 5/8″-11 threaded arbor for broad compatibility. Rigid backers keep the polishing pad perfectly flat for maximum consistency on level floors, while flexible rubber backers conform to slight surface variations for improved polishing performance on irregular surfaces and edge work.
