STI CLC Diamond System

STI CLC Diamond System is a complete, matched diamond-polishing system designed specifically for Prep/Master® floor grinders, featuring seven coordinated metal- and resin-bond tools (#1–#7) that take concrete from the initial grind to a high-gloss finish. Every tool is color-coded red for easy identification, ensuring operators always use the proper system. Rather than being a single tool, the CLC Diamond System is a complete polishing program that delivers consistent, repeatable results through a carefully engineered progression of abrasives and bond types.

The system follows a defined seven-step sequence for maximum performance: Step #1 is run dry to open the concrete surface, Steps #2–#4 are performed wet to refine the floor while applying a densifier, and Steps #5–#7 are completed dry to achieve the final polish with a second densifier application. Compatible with every Prep/Master® grinder, the CLC Diamond System can be used for wet or dry applications depending on the stage, reducing guesswork while producing a cleaner, more uniform finish. For optimal results, concrete should be clean, at least 28 days old, have a minimum strength of 4,250 PSI (29 MPa), and a 100 sq. ft. test area is recommended before beginning a full project.

Recommended Conditions

  • Suitable for concrete free of coatings and adhesives (Prep Tool #0 recommended if preparation is needed).
  • Minimum concrete strength 4,250 PSI (29 MPa).
  • Concrete should be at least 28 days cured.
  • Perform a 100-sq.-ft. test area before polishing the entire floor.

  • Steps #3–#4: 3″ resin-bond tools with red Velcro backing (~15,000 sq. ft. tool life each).
  • Steps #5–#7: 3″ resin-bond polishing tools with red Velcro backing (~10,000–12,000 sq. ft. tool life each).
  • Mounting: Resin tools (#3–#7) install using Velcro pad adapters.
