STI #0 Surface Prep Tool is a metal-bond, three-segment oval surface preparation tool designed to remove carpet glue, mastic, adhesives, thin-set, mortar residue, and epoxy coatings up to approximately 4 mm thick while leveling surface irregularities of about ±4 mm. Built with STI’s patented EG attachment system, it fits all Prep/Master® floor grinders and leaves a clean, consistent surface profile comparable to 80-grit sandpaper, providing the ideal foundation for grinding, polishing, or coating applications.

Designed exclusively for dry use on concrete, the STI #0 Surface Prep Tool must always be operated with a dust collection system and is not intended for terrazzo, marble, or granite. With an approximate service life of 30,000 sq ft, it serves as the essential “step zero” before polishing, removing existing coatings and adhesives so CLC, EGT, and PLP diamond systems can achieve consistent, professional-quality results on clean, bare concrete.
