Alpha Profiler Z-Series

To obtain the optimum life of the Alpha® Profiler Z-Series we recommend you choose the profiler most suitable for the material thickness. Profiler PFZ301 should be used for 2cm (3/4”) and 3cm (1-1/4”) thick material and the PFZ401 should be used for 4cm (1-1/2”) thick material. To obtain more life out of your Alpha® Profiler Z after creating a sink bowl cut-out using the Alpha® AWS-125 Stone Cutter we suggest the following: This application leaves a curved surface due to the design of the contour blade; the Profilers Z will clean up this leftover material to create a perfect 90 degree surface. To obtain maximum life out of the Alpha® Profiler Z we recommend grinding the leftover material using the very bottom of the Profiler Z wheel. When you grind using the very bottom diamonds of the wheel, the nylon guide of the profiler will be raised off the surface of the material and you will have no guides touching the material (nylon guide or ball bearing/rotary touchier). After you remove the leftover material from the contour blade, proceed back to the normal operational instructions of the Alpha® Profiler Z-Series to complete your application.

All Alpha® Profilers are to be used for wet applications only.

The nylon guide will keep the Profiler from dipping during application. Pressing the nylon guide down firmly on the top of the material while having the operator keep this guide flat and level to the surface of the stone, will assure that the Profiler will not dip during application.

No. Alpha® Profilers may not be used on high-speed grinders due to high RPM speed and no internal water-feed supply. The maximum RPM for the Profilers is 3,500 RPM and our Profiling Wheels are designed for low RPM wet polishers such as the Alpha® pneumatic polisher (AIR-680) and our Alpha® electric water-feed polisher (VSP-320) which have the optimum RPM range for using the Profilers. Also, an external water-feed system is not recommended since this will not distribute water evenly onto the Profiler during profiling applications.

Alpha® Profiler Z-Series • Z-30 or (PFZ301) is designed for vertical grinding of 2cm or 3cm material. • Z-40 or (PFZ401) is designed for vertical grinding of 4cm material. Sink Bowl: We recommend using the Profiler Z-Series after you cut a sink hole using the Alpha® AWS-125 Stone Cutter. This application will leave a curved cutting surface which is due to the design of the contour blade. The Profilers Z will clean up this leftover material to create a perfect 90 degree surface. For Rounded Corners, we recommend using the Alpha® Profiler Z-Series together with an Alpha® Corner Ruler to create uniform straight or radius exterior corners.

The ball bearing/rotary touchier within the Alpha® Profiler controls the depth of grinding during application to ensure that the final profiled edge will be straight. NOTE: Profiling is complete when the operator no longer hears a grinding noise, and when the run-off water is clear.

The life of the Profiling Wheel will vary depending on the different classifications of granite hardness. Our Profilers achieve very long life and have fast grinding action due to the “Vacuum Brazed Technology”. Vacuum Brazed diamonds give you aggressive grinding action and longevity, without losing the shape of the profile, unlike Direct Sintered profilers on the market.

The Alpha® Profilers can be used on concrete; however; due to the abrasive nature of concrete, life of the wheel will be extremely short.

Yes. The Alpha® Profilers can be used on these machines since the spindles are 5/8”-11 threaded. The maximum RPM range for the main spindles on these machines is 3,500.
